The gala is a black-tie optional event with a guest speaker, gourmet meal and silent auction.
Students from Campbellsville University's mass communication department will provide full coverage of this event in areas of journalism, radio and television broadcast, photography, public relations and social media.
“The gala is a way for the students to experience the world of media in a real life setting,” Jeannie Clark, general manager of WLCU TV-FM, said.
TV and radio broadcast students will conduct interviews from the maroon carpet outside Winters Dining Hall. WLCU-FM 88.7 will broadcast live beginning at 6 p.m. EDT. The studio host for the night's events will be Bieonica Parsons, a sophomore from Wartburg, Tenn.
The on-site reporters include Mallory Vest, a sophomore from Muskegon, Mich.; Clayton Embry, a sophomore from Morgantown, Ky.; Katelyn Chalk, a sophomore from Frankfort, Ky., and Kevin Thomas, a senior from Elizabethtown, Ky.
Jordan Antle and Ellie McKinley, seniors from Campbellsville, will be the television hosts for the evening. They will provide full television coverage starting at 6 p.m. EDT on Comcast TV channel 10.
A'Darius Pegues, a senior from Fayetteville, N.C.; Kinly Bertram, a senior from Monticello, Ky.; Aletheia Chesnut, a junior from Winchester, Ky., and Ian McGuffin, a junior from Bardstown, Ky., will serve as on-site television reporters.
A special section of the Campus Times will be sent to the printer the Wednesday following the event. This 24-page, magazine style publication will feature student produced pieces as well as student photography.
