CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY. – Campbellsville University students and faculty honored veterans
on Veterans Day Nov. 11.
Rebecca Price and Tammy McWhorter, both in the Office of Counseling Services, set
up a table in the lobby of the Winters Dining Hall during the lunch hours where students,
faculty and staff put names on a card that made the American flag and then their veteran
was presented with a red, white and blue ribbon.
“We realize that there might be soldiers who are students here who might benefit from
counseling services, and it gives us the opportunity to put a face to a name,” McWhorter
said.
Mar’Rajaah McDaniel, a CU student from Louisville, honored her grandfather, and cousin,
former Marines, at
“Veterans Day means a lot to me. I enjoy calling and telling my grandfather and cousin
and telling them how much I appreciate them and what they’ve done for this country,”
McDaniel said.

A cookout will take place this evening to honor the faculty, staff and students who
are veterans at 5 p.m. behind the Student Activities Center. The Student Government
Association will present a brief program. There will be an opportunity to pack care
packages.
“We have been designated a Military Friendly School,” Dr. Michael V. Carter, president
of the institution, said, “and we value our veterans who come to study at Campbellsville
University. We honor their service and pray for the safe return for those who are
now serving.”
Campbellsville University is a widely acclaimed Kentucky-based Christian university
