CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TO HOLD RECEPTION TO HONOR TESSENEERS AND TO PROMOTE ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
By Joan C. McKinney, news and publications coordinator
CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Dr. Ralph and Laura Tesseneer have been involved with Christian higher education for many years, and that commitment will be honored Sunday, July 19, with a reception in their honor.
The reception is to recognize their contributions to Christian higher education and to offer others an opportunity to contribute to the endowed scholarship in their honor.
The event will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. EDT in the Betty Dobbins Heilman House (the president's home) on the university campus at 1 Tiger Way.
To date, family and friends have donated $6,750 to the endowed fund, and $1,250 has been received to the restricted fund to be awarded to students this academic year.
“Some close friends of Ralph and Laura asked me what they could do to make a gift in their honor. I recommended giving to an endowed scholarship in recognition of this dear couple's commitment to Christian higher education,” according to Joe Walters, senior campaign officer in the Office of Development.
“Endowed scholarships help recognize someone's legacy by assisting students in furthering their education at Campbellsville University,” he said.
Dr. Ralph Tesseneer has served as a trustee, vice president for development and has taught at Campbellsville University. Laura Tesseneer has served as a grants writer at CU.
