Teresa Coffey Pruitt, accounts payable manager in Campbellsville University's Office of Business Services, passed away Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at Taylor Regional Hospital. In just two days she would have celebrated her fifty-third birthday.

“It is with saddened hearts that we note the untimely passing of Mrs. Teresa Pruitt,” said President Michael V. Carter, “She was a dedicated servant leader who was committed to the mission of Campbellsville University and who worked tirelessly in providing service to others in our business office. On behalf of the CU family, we extend our sympathy and prayers to her beloved family.”

CU Vice President for Finance Otto Tennant said that Teresa was an exceptionally capable employee whose kindness and patience will be missed by students, faculty and staff. “We were blessed to know her and work with her at CU,” he said.  She was in her thirteenth year as a CU employee.

“Teresa will be deeply missed in our office family and on the campus,” said her director in CU business services, Tim Judd. “She genuinely loved her job and loved the University,” he said. “Her smile was so contagious.  She was full of life and enjoyed every minute.”

Obituary for Teresa Pruitt

The funeral service for Teresa Coffey Pruitt is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at the Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville with services officiated by the Rev. Dave Walters.

The daughter of Louise Curry Coffey and the late Kenneth Coffey, she was born in Adair County, Ky., August 26, 1960.  She died at 9:28 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 in Campbellsville.

Besides her husband Roger Pruitt, she is survived by one son, Justin Michael Pruitt, a CU graduate; one stepson, Christopher Pruitt of Park City; two step-grandchildren: Braxton Pruitt of Park City and Teri Jo Davis of Glasgow; her mother, Louise Curry Coffey of Campbellsville; one brother: Mark Coffey and wife Rebecca of Columbia; one sister-in-law, Edith Coffey of Campbellsville; a special cousin, Cathy Curry Birlew of Stockton, California; a special friend, Sherry Williams of Columbia; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, David Coffey.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home. The family requests expressions of sympathy be in the form of donations to Campbellsville University's scholarship fund.
